Compost Application Practices
To qualify for the Healthy Soils Program, compost must be applied at the following rates:

Annuals | Higher N (C:N < 11) | 3-5 |
" | Lower N (C:N > 11) | 6-8 |
Perennials/Trees | Higher N (C:N < 11) | 2-4 |
" | Lower N (C:N > 11) | 6-8 |
Rangelands | Lower N (C:N > 11) | 6-8 |
If you plan to purchase compost, it must be from a state-certified facility which tests for quality and nutrient content.
